Skype for Windows Mobile appeared years ago and now Skype for Symbian is on the track.Skype announced that the lite beta version of Skype could be used in most current Symbian mobile phones.

• Call on Skype wherever you are – no WIFI or 3G required.(Subject to local data charges)
• Instant message from your mobile.
• Save on international and long distance calls to phones and mobiles.

You don’t confuse on the second point.Well,the basic GSM line (2G) could afford for voice chat by Skype already.Of course,if you will heavily use this function,you’d better to sign an unlimited data plan for your mobile phone first.But it seems to be quite economical on usage.We could see the example given from official:

Tom has 20 Skype contacts and signs in twice a day for a total of 90 minutes. He IMs for about 25 minutes each day and makes 20 minutes of Skype calls. Tom would use just under 1 MB of data in one month.
