No reasonable prices for HSBB

I think TM will adjust the prices for Streamyx and set lower prices for HSBB-now named as UniFi.The fact is I was wrong.

According to the latest information getting from MalaysianWireless,UniFi has the packages of 5,10 and 20Mbps.They are expected to have similar download and upload speeds. The price charts for the packages are not yet disclosed, however, some source claimed that that could be RM149,RM199 and RM249 respectively.

I believe most of Malaysians will say that the prices are too high.I totally agree it.So now I just pray that the prices are for the tri-play packages, not for broadband only.We could get the exact information tomorrow as TM will officially inform the public about the charges for the services.

I hope that will not be another service which is going to kill my wallet.

  1. yeah, from what I know that price is not for broadband only. its for the tri-play package. it means for RM149, you will get 5mb/s internet,8mb/s IPTV and voice over broadband service.

IPTV uses Virtual-LAN system. it means it wont slowdowns your internet speed when you watch TV.

considering we pay RM160 for 4mb/s connection for now, its a reasonable price. well, malaysian market is not big like japan and korea, you you have to charge more to gain profits….

    • If comparing with the current Streamyx prices, the prices for UniFi don't look like too over. However, the Streamyx prices had been over-priced for many years, let's say comparing to Singapore or Thailand where they are in the same region.

5Mbps package is the entry level of UniFi,it should be set at a popular price to Malaysians, from my observation, below RM100-ie.5% of monthly income of a normal degree holder. However, the actual price is 50% more than what I expected.

Till now,we can't get any details about UniFi officially-no updates of prices and policies from TM and can't find the official website for UniFi.It shows TM can't plan and do it well at the current stage yet.

My conclusion is,improving the quality of broadband is a must and I feel TM is heading the way, without true hearts.
