I did a simple speed test on U Mobile and DiGi yesterday in Kuchai Lama area,Kuala Lumpur.
I used my own mobile phone and my wife’s.My mobile phone is newly-bought Motorola Razr supports 14.4Mbps HSPA,while my wife’s is iPhone 4 16GB supports 7.2Mbps HSDPA.The test was running simultaneously and the result shows clearly who is the winner.
As a U Mobile user for more than one year,I think U Mobile has a greatest 3G coverage in Klang Valley area and the speed is decent too. However,DiGi is always telling a different story. So now once people starts talking about DiGi,we know it’s all about the slow 3G network.
This speed test shows the fact again.I’ve noticed that DiGi is projecting a huge upgrade work currently which called “The Tomorrow Network“.I just hope it could really make some improvement.

Yey to U Mobile. Am using it too with the 21Mbps MIFI and getting about 10Mbps on average.
Wow,it’s great!Just hoping U Mobile to expand their 3G coverage faster.
Hi, I wanted to use U Mobile but was told that their autoroaming only works in Singapore, no other countries. Can someone please enlighten me on this? Thanks!
If you’re U Mobile prepaid user, the answer would be yes as prepaid user only allows to roam in Singapore now;if you’re postpaid user instead, you have no such limits. The details of roaming countries for postpaid users could be found here. http://www.u.com.my/international-roaming/supported-countries-and-providers
Hi, maybe I missed it, but where on the page you mentioned does it state that it is only for postpaid users? Anyway, I am a Prepaid user. Thanks!.
It’s not mentioning in that page that I provided, but it does mention on the prepaid page, stating that only roaming in Singapore available for prepaid users via Starhub.
