On the first day of Google I/O 2012,many things were caught by the tech geeks.Well,Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is definitely one of the hotspots.
Previously it was said to be Android 5.0,however,it’s now known as Android 4.1,so we could treat it as an improved version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The key points on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean include:
- Fast and smooth performance
Google realized that previous Android systems always can’t get the same smooth performance as iPhone does and they want to change the fact. They set up Project Butter trying to improve the performance to get iPhone-like experience. Finally we could see the outcome now.
Google claims that it could help to improve the battery life too.
- Richer notifications
It could let you get more controls through notifications.Of course, you now could reply a call directly from the notification.
- Resizable widgets
Widgets are getting smarter. When you apply a widget but not enough room for the original size of the widget,it will be resized automatically to fit into the limited space.
- Share right after taking photos
The experience on taking photos had been improved a lot on Android 4.0,but a lot of people feel it’s not so convenient yet for sharing.Google listens to the users and in Android 4.1,you could take and share photos seamlessly.
- A smarter keyboard
Google says the prediction in the latest keyboard has been more accurate. With the improved text-to-speech capabilities, voice typing could do better than ever.
- Voice searching
No doubt that this ungraded feature is directly gunning on Siri. It’s more like a personal assistant who could provide you details on the things you are looking for.
- Google Now
It’s a brand-new feature and I think it’d be also very helpful. It could learn from your past searches and suggest to you what you may want now, bringing you just the right information at the right time. It’s damn cool, isn’t it?
Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the first phone running on Android 4.1,more devices could be upgraded to this latest Android by OTA in mid of July, including Motorola Xoom.
You can find more details on official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean page. You’ll be surprised.
