Every year , Xiaomi introduces new smartphones in the annual events and this year it’s turn to Mi 4.
Let’s check with the specs first:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz processor
- 3GB LP-DDR3 RAM
- 16/64GB eMMC 5.0
- 5-inch 1080p Sharp / JDI OGS full lamination display
- 13MP rear and 8MP front Sony stacked CMOS camera
- 3080 mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery
Is it surprising you? Well, I know most people are not because we have seen the similar specs on several smartphones already, such as OnePlus One,Samsung Galaxy S5 and some other popular flagship products. In fact some manufactures have released the upgraded version of products which use Snapdragon 805 instead. Thus, this time Mi4 can’t entitle the name of “top performance Android phone” in the world though it still highlights the words in the official website.
However,as the price tag is still placed at RMB1999(16GB)/RMB2499(64GB),it’d be very competitive compared to those with similar performances from Samsung/HTC/LG.
Xiaomi seems to change the strategy from building up with the latest hardwares to building with better designs.
In camera, the rear one is still 13M pixels, the same as Mi 3. However,it has a bigger F1.8 lens which definitely will improve the low light shooting performance. Other things should also be noted here are it only takes 0.5 second to start up, 0.3 second to focus and 0 second delay on shooting, supporting Realtime HDR.
In display , Mi 4 has a much saturated full HD IPS display, resulting 17% more vividness than iPhone 5S display.
In connectivity,Mi 4 has both 3G( WCDMA, CDMA1X) and 4G LTE(TD-LTE,FD-LTE) versions .Currently only 3G WCDMA version is available to preorder, but 3G CDMA 1X & TD-LTE versions will be available in August. FD-LTE version will be in the market before the end of this year. The integrated infrared remote function can help you control 2853 supported devices up to date and it’s increasing.
