Maxis moves the steps on its 4G LTE service a lot faster than any other mobile service providers in Malaysia.Being the first 4G LTE service provider in Malaysia,Maxis had announced to provide wider coverage to Penang,Johor Bahru,Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. Yes,they are in East Malaysia now.
Celcom finally reveals the date of officially launching 4G LTE service on the website. It’s tomorrow (23 April 2013) with limited offer for first 1,000 subscribers who sign up for Celcom First Data Pro.
Celcom First Data Pro needs to be paid RM138 monthly for 10GB data volume up to 50Mbps .However,if you’re one of the first 1,000 subscribers, you could get your 4G LTE modem+3 months free subscriptions for only RM199.The following Blue Cube outlets are open for registration of that offer from 23 April:
Maxis is the first carrier in Malaysia using 1800Mhz 4G LTE network officially which iPhone 5(Model A1429) could run on that frequency. However, users need to update the carrier setting to enable 4G LTE function. It’s only some simple clicks to go and the only thing you need to ensure is you have a Maxis SIM in your device.
Currently, some Maxis iPhone 5 users have received update for enabling 4G LTE service on Maxis network. It has been reported on MalaysianWireless in this morning.Since iPhone 5 is not supporting 2600Mhz 4G LTE network which is initially applied on Malaysia’s 4G LTE network, the current carrier update from Maxis implies that Maxis has been supporting 1800Mhz 4G LTE network from now on.
Up to now Maxis hasn’t yet released any official announcement for the coverage of 1800Mhz 4G LTE network. However,we may see the overall coverage map from OpenSignal map.

Yesterday,DiGi quietly showed the information on the website to claim that they will start to sell LG Nexus 4 from 7 January 2013.
Till now, there’s no further information to be disclosed on the website, including the price. However, some rumor said that the RRP should be around RM1799.
The question is whether DiGi will put this phone available for RM200 rebate under Youth Cmmunication package. If yes,I’m sure it will attract quite a number young guys to buy it as RM1599 will be very impressive price compared to most mobile phones in the market although the retail price after rebate is still RM300(US100) more than buying from Google Play Store.Do you agree?
Update:Today,DiGi starts the pre-order of Nexus 4 online and in some selected DiGi Stores. The RRP is set at RM1649 and with DiGi Smart Plan 88,the device price is dropped to RM1499.
