As U Mobile customer,I felt quite happy with it.It deployed 42Mbps HSPA+ network base stations in major cities in Malaysia and keep expanding its coverage,also providing competitive prepaid and postpaid plans.However,the major outage happened today is a sort of disaster.

Since this morning,some U Mobile users started to complain that they can’t make or receive any calls or sms and several hours later,more users complained on the same issue.Finally U Mobile made a publish announcement through all channels:Facebook,twitter and its official website.

It’s not good enough.U Mobile didn’t give out any updates on how the progress is and when the service could be resumed.As mobile communication has been a very important communication method and when it disrupts,it could lead some great losses to the users.U Mobile should have a backup plan to minimize the effects,but sadly they don’t have.

Well,now I just hope my mobile phone can get into the service as soon as possible.

[Update] About 10 mins ago,some users reported that they can finally make/receive calls and sms,but somebody still has problems on roaming on Celcom 2G.I think the recovery is working in progress.Yet,no detailed explanation was given by U Mobile.

It has to be one of the most successful biography in the world.The author Walter Isaacson took many times of interviews with Steve Jobs,his friends,family and competitors and recorded thoroughly in this book.

The stories written in the book clearly show the character of Steve Jobs,his thoughts and smart movements,and of course,including his love,as a human being.

I got the book once it globally published and read for some days.It’s really inspiring me.

It will never be good experience,but I have to face it.

Spent weeks to treat my chronic active gastritis,however,the progress is quite slow.I checked a lot of different sources and found that there’s no short-cut to cure this illness.It will take time and it will be months at best and for year maybe.

Currently I still have nausea and abdominal pain in half of a week.I now get traditional Chinese medication to treat it-herbal medicine and acupuncture.

I also intake Vitamin B Complex with Zinc to help to heal my stomach mucosa as well as flax seed oil.

Since my stomach damage was caused by H. Pylori which has been applied with some antibiotics,I keep to have UMF10+ Manuka honey and yoghurt daily to eliminate the bad bacteria in the stomach by the natural way.

Now I do wish my stomach could be healthy asap.Guys,if you have any experience on this,please share your story here.Thanks.

As I posted before,U Mobile held a top-up and win contest with Maybank last month.The gifts include Samsung Galaxy Tab,ZTE HSDPA modem and free sms credits.I’m so lucky to get a free modem as the gift and collected it yesterday at U Mobile service center,Berjaya Times square.

U Mobile also gave us some surprise-free one month mobile broadband(MB40 plan) for the coming August with a new SIM which was registered on site.

The free modem is ZTE MF190 which supports HSDPA 7.2Mbps/USUPA 5.76Mbps.I think it’s good enough for most mobile broadband users.But if you’re living at U Mobile’s upgraded HSPA+ coverage area and want to fully utilize it,you may go to buy a HSPA+ modem instead,hopefully it won’t be too costly.

The design is very simple.It has a SIM slot and a microSD slot,both are hidden under the cover that you’re not going to find it easily.The size is moderate as well as its weight.I will test the performance when the free period starts.Stay tuned if you’re interested!

I like U Mobile more now because they always throw out all kinds of goodies for the customers.I just hope U Mobile could keep improving the quality of network.The worst thing I met when using U Mobile is sometimes I can’t get data connections while roaming at Celcom 2G network.And I know I’m not alone.

After months of testing and fixing,WordPress 3.2 comes officially.It’s said to make it faster and lighter.

Inside the new version,a refreshed dashboard design is created.I feel it is much clearer than the old one and loads faster as they declared.They also create a new official theme-new Twenty Eleven theme which is fully coded by HTML5 as they promised before that they would design a new theme every year.

It’s left nothing but my editing windows,they call it as distraction-free writing or zen mode.

Google pushes its brand new service Google+ so hard.They quietly gives out some benefit to the existing testers to let them stay there.One of the benefits is more free storage for pictures and videos.

In the latest FAQ of Picasa web album,Google adds the new lines for Google+ users.Here they are:

Free storage limits

Photos up to 2048 x 2048 pixels and videos up to 15 minutes won’t count towards your free storage.

Automatic resizing

All photos uploaded in Google+ will be automatically resized to 2048 pixels (on their longest edge) and won’t count towards your free storage quota.

All photos uploaded  to Picasa Web Albums over the free size limit will count towards your 1 GB of free storage. When you reach your storage limit, any new photos you upload to Picasa Web larger than the free size limit will be automatically resized to 2048 pixels (on their longest edge).

If you haven’t signed up for Google+

Free storage limits

Photos up to 800 x 800 pixels and videos up to 15 minutes won’t count towards your free storage.

Automatic resizing

All photos uploaded over the free size limit will count towards your 1 GB of free storage. When you reach your storage limit, any new photos you upload to Picasa Web larger than the free size limit will be automatically resized to 800 pixels (on their longest edge).

2048*2048 pixels is quite good for normal printings and web sharing.So in this case,Google seems to be very gentle to Google+ users.If you’ve already a Google+ user,why not uploading your pictures and videos to Picasa web album to utilize this free storage?I’ve done that.

Google+ is such a hot topic recently.But unfortunately,not every one could get invitation at this time.Google was open the rights to send invitations from the existing Google+ users at first and then pulled the option down because of high demand.

Well,it’s not out of ways to get access to Google+ actually.Some tech geeks found that sharing something to an email by Google+ and click on the link ‘Learn more about Google+’ in that email,you may get a chance to be a member of that small group of testers.

I don’t know if Google intends to open this loophole or maybe accidentally,but they surely know about it now.I heard some people can’t successfully register for Google+ at the first time,but they get it work after several attempts.I think maybe Google is using this way to control the size of testing group.

I heard that Google now has begun to open the door to all existing Google users for Google+ service.That means if you have a Google account,you could access Google+ easily,not necessarily getting any invitation at all.Well,I have’t confirmed that yet.I hope you guys try it now and tell me if it’s true.

Although Google has shown how Google+ is,it’s not yet the time to go public.Currently just few groups of people get the invitation from Google to join the project.If you want to take a chance to join this,you could apply here.You also could try to have the interactive tour to taste it first.

If you’re so lucky that you’ve got the invitation,you should go to Android Market to install Google+ in your Android phone to make it mobilized.If you have an iPhone,don’t worry,Google+ app will be soon in the App Store.Of course,you’re able to visit Google+ in your mobile web browser too.

In the past several weeks,quite a number of U Mobile users complained about the slow speed of network.Some people said that the ISPs in Malaysia always did like that-good at the beginning and turning to be worse and worse till the end.

Well,U Mobile is approving that they are not like that.The speed in many areas has been improving dramatically and even better than before.Therefore,I guess the service downgrade was because of the upgrade work doing during that period.

According to my recent tests,I could get more than 2-3Mbps(more than 4Mbps at midnight) for download and 1.5Mbps for upload when I was travelling along old Klang road;at the same time,I tested the speed on DiGi network and only got 500Kbps for download and 120Kbps for upload.

As a new mobile service company,they’re doing great.Of course,they also have a long way to go,such as expanding 3G service area,enhancing their customer service quality and support special code message etc.I’ll be keeping eyes on them.

DiGi designs a group of new plans dedicated for iPad data users.It’s starting from RM30 postpaid monthly with 500MB quota and exceeding usage will be charged at RM0.05/MB,capped at RM90.Other 2 plans are RM58 and RM88 postpaid monthly with 2GB and 6GB data volume without additional charges for exceeding quota,however,speed throttled.

DiGi also provides a prepaid option here-a microsim pack costing RM25 including 5-day internet pass.What you need to be noted is DiGi prepaid Internet plans only providing download speed up to 384Kbps even though you’re under so-called Turbo3G coverage.

Do you like the new plans?For me,it’s not attractive at all.

I was living in a bad condition last week.Food poisoning make me very sick in the whole week including being hospitalized in Sunway Medical Center for 3 days.

The feeling was freaking bad.No appetites and only could eat very light foods,but it’s not the worst part.The worst thing was non-stop diarrhea which was driving me crazy as well as my asshole.

My darling also suffered too,she had to accompany me after work and take care of me.Very thankful!

Well,now I have felt much better though currently there are still some digestive issues.I wish I could fully recovered soon.

Just minutes ago when I was chatting in Facebook,I found something new in the chat windows.

Look the red cycle there,I think the ‘enlarge’ button is new there.When I click on it,it popped up a conversation asking me to activate my facebook email.After some simple clicks,I jumped into a new page showing my whole chat box into a facebook page.

Did you notice the row under the message box?Yes,there are options to send files,pics and videos and you also could choose to send message by sms.

Till now,I haven’t yet seen any official announcements from facebook about the new features.Maybe they are upgraded in stages and so not everybody could see it?!

In conjunction with celebrating 10 years opening of Apple store in US,all Apple retail stores there have made some upgrades.The most changes could catch our eyes are iPad 2 locating everywhere next to each product showing pricing and information.

In Malaysia,iPad2 is so hot that the stocks always sells out in hours;but in US,they put iPad2 as a display and guild tool.You can use it to see the brief introduction,price and tech specs.If you have anything ask,you could just simply ‘call’ the representative through iPad2 to get help.

Feel envy,huh?Will Apple Store in Malaysia upgrade to 2.0 soon?

Most laptop speakers are working quite lousy except your laptop is quite high end so that the speakers are designed by some audio experts such as Altec Lansing.Well,my laptop is not so lucky and today I just shopped one to let me have a bit better audio experience-the model is Sonic Gear Tatoo 515.

It’s a low end product with a quite low price,selling at only RM69(US$23) in Thunder Match.It’s a 2.1 channel audio system with 2*4W small speakers and 1*8W little sub-woofer.The overall design is really simple and clear,but I really care the sound quality,at least it should worth the price.

I tested to play some 1080P HD trailers from Youtube as well as a few classical musics and I feel that the speakers could play voices quite clear,but treble is a bit thin and bass is not deep enough.However,considering that is such a mini system,it’s quite fair.So I still think it’s a good choice if you are not a HiFi user.Of course,no one will think that products locating in this range could be outstanding.Cheers!

I seldom talk about Yes 4G because till now I have’t had a chance to try the service.Well,it’s quite new compared with P1 4G which has been running this 4G service for years.However,Yes 4G is catching up as quickly as they can.Now the battle has moved to multiply platforms,including mobile advertisement.

Yesterday,when I started to play the latest Angry Birds Rio Beach Volley Update in my Nexus One,a pop-up ad came in front of me.I made a snapshot of it.

Wow,I felt so surprised that I could see this ad in a game.

Well,that also indicates that the management of YTL communication,the service provider of Yes 4G,has put great efforts on promoting it and intends to win the battle with an outstanding result.If there is no minimum RM30 usage monthly,I think I will definitely get one for spare use when I can’t get a good 3G reception on the go.

Now I’m just looking forward to see more flexible plans to be introduced.
