iPhone4S:another one week, but you can do something now

iPhone fans will love MalaysianWireless so much as he used all his connections to get lots of stories about iPhone4S launch and now he had already drawn a much clearer picture to us.

Maxis had closed ‘register of interest’ and 100,000 people who had registered days ago should receive an email from Maxis to arrange a time slot attending iPhone4S launch at 9PM(Thurday night),15 December 2011 at KL Convention Center, being the first people to get iPhone4S at 12:01(Friday morning),16 December 2011.Of course, they also can choose to pick up their phones during the days on Friday and Saturday.

Celcom has planned to hold up a launching event at the same time that Maxis does, but the place will be La Bodega, Bangsar Shopping Center.Again, people who wants to attend that event, need to arrange the time slot as well.MalaysianWireless revealed that Celcom will probably offer some kind of discounts in some form secretly. If you can sign up Celcom Exec i248 postpaid plan for 24 months, you can only pay RM558 for iPhone4S 16GB and bring it home.

So DiGi is the only one acting quietly.I think many people wanna ask MalaysianWireless to dip out some more news from DiGi too. :D

iPhone4S is really driving Malaysian Apple fans crazy!!!

Get free gift from U Mobile

As I posted before,U Mobile held a top-up and win contest with Maybank last month. The gifts include Samsung Galaxy Tab,ZTE HSDPA modem and free sms credits.I’m so lucky to get a free modem as the gift and collected it yesterday at U Mobile service center,Berjaya Times square.

U Mobile also gave us some surprise-free one month mobile broadband(MB40 plan) for the coming August with a new SIM which was registered on site.

The free modem is ZTE MF190 which supports HSDPA 7.2Mbps/USUPA 5.76Mbps.I think it’s good enough for most mobile broadband users. But if you’re living at U Mobile’s upgraded HSPA+ coverage area and want to fully utilize it,you may go to buy a HSPA+ modem instead, hopefully it won’t be too costly.

The design is very simple. It has a SIM slot and a microSD slot, both are hidden under the cover that you’re not going to find it easily. The size is moderate as well as its weight.I will test the performance when the free period starts.Stay tuned if you’re interested!

I like U Mobile more now because they always throw out all kinds of goodies for the customers.I just hope U Mobile could keep improving the quality of network. The worst thing I met when using U Mobile is sometimes I can’t get data connections while roaming at Celcom 2G network. And I know I’m not alone.

U Mobile,could you solve this problem?I’m waiting.

[Video]Google turns your phone into wallet

Several hours ago,Google finally held a live conference about its new products:Google Wallet and Google Offer. In fact,it’s not too new as many tech experts have predicted that Google would apply their NFC(Near field communication) devices into some sorts of mobile wallet.Well, now it comes true.

The latest Google Nexus S has NFC inside.Google claims that a special security chip is also setting in the phone so that when the cellphone is activated to make payment, the chip will secured the privacy during the transactions.

To use of Google Wallet is very simple, only few steps will be taken to make your first purchase.

  • Make sure your cellphone is NFC enabled and your credit card is supported for Google Wallet.(currently only Citibank Mastercard or Google prepaid card is in the list)
  • Install Google Wallet in your mobile phone and then log into it,set up your wallet PIN
  • Add first card in Google Wallet with filling up some necessary information(quite similar with making an online transaction)
  • Submit the card information and wait for the approval from the bank
  • Receive the confirmation from the bank and now you can use your phone to make payments on merchant’s Paypass POS(currently only available in some partner stores)

I like the idea so much as it could definitely ease the whole payment process and let the shopping experience much happier than ever-no more long queue needed.

At the meanwhile,Google Wallet can add your royalty cards and discount vouchers too. That’s means when you’re shopping at some places with royalty card and discount vouchers, when you make the payment by Google Wallet,it automatically records the transactions into your royalty card and so you entitle the rewards/points immediately,of course, you could get some discounts too as the vouchers work for you.

Is that amazing?Well,Google Offer will satisfy you more. When you explore Internet and find some offer, the only thing you need to do is to save the offer in your PC and it will sync into your mobile phone. The offer will apply while a purchase is matched and paid by Google Wallet. It’s just that simple.

Well, after Google Wallet expands to worldwide,I can throw away the whole pockets of cards and let them sleep at home.I will feel less weight. But how long should I wait for the day coming?  :P

Apple Store 2.0 with iPad 2

In conjunction with celebrating 10 years opening of Apple store in US,all Apple retail stores there have made some upgrades. The most changes could catch our eyes are iPad 2 locating everywhere next to each product showing pricing and information.

(Thanks macstories for the nice pics.)

In Malaysia,iPad2 is so hot that the stocks always sells out in hours;but in US,they put iPad2 as a display and guild tool. You can use it to see the brief introduction, price and tech specs. If you have anything ask,you could just simply ‘call’ the representative through iPad2 to get help.

Feel envy, huh? Will Apple Store in Malaysia upgrade to 2.0 soon? :P
