U Mobile adds UMI 38 Plan with Free Messaging

U Mobile today introduces new unlimited Internet prepaid plan UMI 38 with 500MB high-speed quota,200 minutes talking time and 30 sms for 30 days. It’s said to be the best balanced plan and should fit most people’s daily use.

Well,U Mobile also informed that a new service called ‘Free Messaging’ is available to all UMI 28, UMI 38 and UMI 48 subscribers. ‘Free Messaging’ service is based on the partnership with two popular mobile apps – Kakao Talk and WeChat. It allows KaKao Talk and WeChat users freely chat with friends, send photos or any other in-app features without reducing your data quota. Is that awesome?

U Mobile is very smart. As they are one of the smallest mobile service providers in Malaysia. They are really hard to compete against the giants such as Maxis/Celcom. The best way to attract more customers is to know the trend and produce innovative services .I think now they are on the right track.

The installation process is just simple as several clicks. After running the installation file,it will let you key in your phone number to sync contacts, messages and call/conversation history with your device which already has Viber in use.

Viber desktop promises to provide seamless user experience on your mobile device, such as :

U Mobile had some network outage(recovered in 2 hours)

Half hour ago, some U Mobile users started to complain that they were not able to make outgoing calls and sms in a few places while they still can receive calls and sms,the data service is ok too.U Mobile had notified the problem and seeked to get more information from affected users.

It’s affecting my area.Luckily I found that the problem is only shown on U Mobile’s own 3G network and once I force my phone to 2G network which roams on Celcom, the issue’s been gone.

So I suggest users who suffer from the network outage could try to use my way to avoid any inconvenience.Since it’s not the first time that U Mobile has such kind of problem in this year,I hope the technical teams could fix it as soon as possible and try their best to eliminate it.
