The Tomorrow Network from DiGi

DiGi recently announced that they are doing some major upgrade work throughout the whole country to solve the network congestion issues and extend their high speed broadband coverage. Also,by upgrading the network,DiGi will have a LTE(a sort of 4G technology) ready and can be working as soon as they get 4G license in Malaysia.DiGi named that upgraded network as ‘The Tomorrow Network’.

DiGi also promises that after the upgrade, more than 95% of the most populated area in Malaysia will have high speed broadband access(EDGE&3G).

DiGi informs that the upgrade will be site-by-site and so some area may have service interruptions during the work and normally it will be at off-peak hour.DiGi users can check when you will be affected by this link.

There are many friends around me using DiGi’s service as it’s known to offer the most affordable phone plans in Malaysia.Well, the complaints about the service quality of DiGi(expecially on rate of drop-calls,slow 3G speed etc.) never stop.

I wish with the deployments of the new network,DiGi could get better reputation and really be the smart choice of their consumers.

Rumor again about the next iPhone

Recently all Apple fans have been busily seeking sources to get more information about next iPhone as the past generations of iPhone were released in Q3 which is only few months left.

However,Apple is very good at keeping mouths shut and it seems that we could only guess by ourselves or listen to some rumors. The hottest rumor is quite similar as what I talked weeks ago that the next iPhone is ‘iPhone4s’ which is the minor upgrade version of iPhone 4.

Of course,it should be better than the current one,so a faster processor will be applied-the best guess is using A5 which is also using on current iPad2.Also,Apple will upgrade the camera in order to provide better shooting quality.Previously,I heard that iPhone4s could support 4G connection such as Wimax or LTE.However,I read some articles showing that currently all Wimax/LTE chips are not good at power savings and that definitely will lower the battery hours. So iPhone4s perhaps supports HSPA+ that could reach 42Mbps peak as the result of balancing between battery hour and speed.

AppleInsider has their own analysis about next iPhone,I think some points are the same as what I thought.Well, all will only be approved when the next iPhone is officially introduced.Stay tuned! :)

YES

It’s not just about the word,it’s about the new service.YES is the brand of a new Wimax service in Malaysia provided by YTL,a well-known local company.

The service is said to be 3-5 times faster than all local 3G data services and it’s no commitment for any agreement-Pay as You use. Also,I heard that YES will not only for Wimax data service,it will add voice service,TV service and others soon.

Yesterday, someone leaked a picture for its price structure.Well,it seems not to be so attractive.

Today, the devices are introduced. Some are fitting for mobile use, some are fitting for home and office use.

After 24 hours, all will be disclosed in the launch event.I’m wondering what YES could make itself be more attractive.

Stay tuned!

PS:In Malaysia, all Wimax service providers call their services as 4G.However,according to the international standard,it can’t be.In fact, the standards of 4G are still editing. Smile
