15 years for Internet Browsers

I just know that Internet Browser is still quite young.I had 12 years experience on computer and Internet Browsers only have 15-year history.

Internet Browsers

I think most of people use Internet Explorer at the beginning when they start to surf Internet because IE is integrated in a large number of PCs installing Microsoft Windows. And if you’re an Apple fan, you’d probably use Safari currently. However, the first Internet Browser is neither IE nor Safari. It was called Netscape which had been out of our eyes for long time.

More options here compare to 15 years ago.Now except IE and Safari,we also have Firefox,Opera,Google Chrome and so on.They all want to hit the No.1 seat belonging to IE for years and I do believe it could happen within a near future.I use Firefox always because it has better securities, less bugs, faster speed of loading websites and bulks of useful extensions. So I can’t give out any single reason to back to IE yet.

How do you think?Which browser(s) you prefer to use?

Mozilla Firefox 3.0.9

Whoever you are a newbie PC user or an IT expert, surely you care about the computer security. As a very strong competitor of Microsoft Internet Explorer,Mozilla Firefox grows very fast. That means even a small bug of this software,it may affect a large group of users. You could see that Firefox updates versions efficiently in order to minimize bugs which may cause some troubles to you and make some improvements in order to give you more comfortable experience on using it.

Currently,Mozilla Firefox 3.0.9 was released to fix some known issues.

  • Fixed several security issues.
  • Fixed several stability issues.
  • Many users experienced an issue where a corrupt local database caused Firefox to “lose” its stored cookies. (bug 470578)
  • Fixed an issue where, starting with Firefox 3.0.7, inline image attachments on popular webmail services (like AOL and AIM) would not display. (bug 482659)
  • Large forms would sometimes take a long time to submit. (bug 426991)
  • In certain cases, new windows would not have proper focus. (bug 446568)
  • According to my analysis,38% of visitors of my blog are using Firefox. Thus,if you’re in that group, please do the upgrading work now. That always benefits you. :)

A critical patch to fix IE

Recently a flaw is believed to have already infected as many as 10,000 websites.Meanwhile, some hackers start to use this vulnerability to take over other people’s computers so that dozens of personal files may be exposed.

    Microsoft

Microsoft has told to the public that the flaw affected from IE5 to the latest IE8 beta2 and thus most of Windows users are involved. However, this patch has been released and should have been installed by using Automatic Update.

Those people who never open that function could get the critical patch through Microsoft Update Web site or manually download it here(KB 960714).Otherwise,using other web browsers such as Firefox,Opera or Google Chrome are strongly recommended alternatives.

Microsoft mobilized the security team worldwide to work out a software cure in the unprecedented time of 8 days.It sounds good as they do the things very efficiently. But in fact, the leak could be found in IE5.That means it’s existed for more than 9 years. How come no one figure it out during the 9 years?I feel it is so ridiculous.
