Nokia Here on iOS

Nokia Here is a navigation app originally designed on Windows Phone, however,Nokia now has decided to expand it into iOS and Android free of charge.I believe a lot of iOS device users will definitely like it because Apple maps is still quite lousy in a number of places.

Nokia Here supports both iPhone and iPad with iOS 4.3 or later. The map is based on well-known NAVTEQ’s resources. It also supports community map in some countries so that users could add missing information by their own, updating the maps faster and more accurate.

The details of the features:

Upon my personal experience,I found Waze actually has more complete road information in Malaysia.Anyway,as Nokia Here is just born,it supposes to grow to be better in the coming future.

The Android version of Nokia Here is still under developing.I hope once it covers all major mobile platforms with more users, the map can become a strong competitor to Waze.

iPhone 5 is coming to the market soon

Yesterday,iPhone 5 was officially introduced in Apple event.iPhone 5 is claimed to be the slimmest and fastest iPhone up to date.

iPhone 5 has a quite-iPhone-style appearance, however,it’s actually redesigned from inside to outside. This latest iPhone is claimed to be 18% thinner,20% lighter and less 12% weight than its predecessor-iPhone 4s.

But less weight doesn’t mean to cut anything,in the contrast,it’s still being enhanced.iPhone 5 features a 4-inch retina display. That will definitely give you more convenience to type and read stuff.Apple also said that the new display will show a vivid and lifelike effect, even better than iPhone 4S.

LTE support is another revolution in this phone, providing up to 100Mbps connection. At the same time,iPhone 5 also supports HSPA,HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA in cellular network;Dual-band 802.11n  WiFi connection up to 150 Mbps.Apple said they’ve done a lot of optimizing work on better battery life, especially for LTE connection. However,we could only see the result after the real testing.

A6 chip is first time to use on iPhone and it’s not only performing better than A5 chip(CPU & Graphics),but also saving battery life-twice faster than A5 chip with up to 8 hours of browsing on a cellular connection, up to 8 hours of talk time, and up to 10 hours of video playback time.

The latest generation of iSight camera now can support panorama shooting and the front-facing camera can support 720P HD video shooting.

Apple also introduced the new lightning 8 Pin connector, making it smaller, smarter, durable and reversible. You could get 30 Pin adapter to support your old i-devices too.

Apple also officially released the new maps designed by their own. It’s said to be much smooth and responsive than the old Google Maps, giving out real-time traffic information and reroute automatically. But will it run that great?I have my doubt.

Siri in iPhone 5 could answer you more, including sports scores and stats, where to eat, what movies to see — even ask Siri to make Facebook posts or tweet for you.Of course, more languages will be supported soon.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

On the first day of Google I/O 2012,many things were caught by the tech geeks.Well,Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is definitely one of the hotspots.

Previously it was said to be Android 5.0,however,it’s now known as Android 4.1,so we could treat it as an improved version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The key points on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean include:

  • Fast and smooth performance

Google realized that previous Android systems always can’t get the same smooth performance as iPhone does and they want to change the fact. They set up Project Butter trying to improve the performance to get iPhone-like experience. Finally we could see the outcome now.

Google claims that it could help to improve the battery life too.

  • Richer notifications

It could let you get more controls through notifications.Of course, you now could reply a call directly from the notification. Continue reading

iOS 5.1 is delivering

With the introduction of the new iPad,Apple also released iOS 5.1.

You have to make sure your device has more than 50% battery or has connected to the charger, otherwise, you can’t complete the upgrade process.

The whole process could be done Over-The-Air,so nothing need to be talk about as it’s too simple.Strongly suggest iPhone 4S users to upgrade iOS asap as it could fix the bug affecting battery life. And Siri starts to understand Japanese now,but sorry,no Chinese support yet.So we still need to wait Siri to learn Chinese.

Mac OS Lion+IOS 5+iCloud=WWDC?

From a pic shot by Apple Insider showing that Apple has hanged up a piece of poster to tell people what’s going to happen soon.

Well, there’s no sign of new iPhone. So Apple wanna give us a surprise? We still have to wait and see.I wish Steve Job will perform a wonderful show to all Apple fans.

Stay tuned!

Do you need me to say more about it?

These days iPhone is really a hot topic.Every day I read articles from Google Reader and I always get something about iPhone,of course, the next one. Here is I find today:

What do you think the right circle is?I believe it’s a flash light and seems it’s quite far from the camera, huh?Better effect?

I feel it looks a bit weird.Well,it’s just my personal opinion and it would perhaps not be iPhone at all.Well,my wife actually is waiting for the next iPhone(whatever iPhone4S or iPhone5).I don’t think she will like this design.

White iPhone4 and iOS4.3.3

In Malaysia,DiGi is the first mobile service provider to announce white iPhone4 would be available in the market, even open to public to register for interest. However,it’s not the first one could have stocks to sell,Maxis wins this time!

Maxis remains the existing plans for white iPhone 4 too,so nothing special to share here.

Meanwhile,Apple announced last night that the latest iOS 4.3.3 is available to download.
