LRT extensions(Update)

Finally I’m able to get some details from the official source.According to the proposal,Kelana Jaya LRT extension line will commence from Lembah Subang – Kelana Business Centre, through Subang, USJ, Alam Megah and ending at the hub in Putra Heights. The proposed line will consist of 13 new stations and approximately 17km of guideway;

Ampang LRT extension line will commence from the present Sri Petaling station, passing through Puchong, Kinrara and ending at the hub in Putra Heights. The proposed line will consist of 13 new stations and approximately 17.7km of guideway.

The stations will be equipped with all necessary facilities and be comfortable to the physical disables as well.

Both lines are expected to be commissioned by end of 2012.

Here’s the proposed map for the extensions:

As I know,the new stations will also be designed with modern elements.

However,I still think that more 4-car trains introduce to the existing lines should be a good arrangement because nowadays both lines are having around 4-hour overloading during the working days.

I also suggest Rapid KL to modify the current 2-car trains to be 4-car trains and make some decorations and upgrades on the trains in order to continue providing a better quality of service.

How will the project go?We’ll see.

The enhancements on Kelana Jaya LRT

If you always take LRTs for working or studying,you may hate that crowded environment during the peak hours.Well,I think you could get relaxing from the fourth quarter of this year because some official sources indicate the new 4-car trains will start to run in Kelana Jaya Line from that date.

LRT

This was taken by some net friend nearby Subang depot in July.

Another evidence which could approve the new trains coming is the enhanced working on the gates at some LRT stations(Kelana Jaya, Taman Bahagia, Kerinchi, Bangsar,KL Sentral, Masjid Jamek, KLCC, Ampang Park,Wangsa Maju, Gombak) recently.More automatic gates are being set up for fitting a larger volume of people when the new and longer trains are introduced.The whole project is planned to be ended in August.

Anyway,I believe it’s a real good news for people always travelling between PJ and KL by LRT.Let’s wait and see the progress!
