New trains for KTMB

Hearing of buying new trains from Transport Department as well as KTM Berhad, finally we could see the true face of the new trains.

New KTM train The new train is made by Hyundai Rotem  with Mitsubishi design and will be used on Kuala Lumpur-Ipoh route of ETS(Express Train Service) initially. The designed max. speed of this train is 160km/hour,however,it will only be running at 140km/hour maximum in the current route, spending 1 hour and 55 minutes for the single trip.

The new train is a new hope for a lot of people. At least we now know that KTM is doing something improving their services.I just wonder know when they want to increase more trains for existing commuter services and when the ETS will be extended to Penang/Singapore.

I think for all I mentioned,I still need to wait for longer time.

Electrical train with Diesel

This is what they are doing on KTM Commuter trains recently-the public transport service which provides the routes covering the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to link to the city centre.

As what I know, the frequency of the service hasn’t been changed for more than 5 years, with at least 20 minutes of waiting time. However, during the years, the population in such areas has increased many times and still going up.So the fact is,trains are crowded in most of time, but the service quality is decreasing because the trains are always overused with bad maintenance. In order to keep the normal service,KTM has to utilise Diesel locomotives on some electrical cars.

KTM train with Diesel locomotive Is that a quite unique scene?

One-day at Genting Highland(1)

As I told yesterday,I went to Genting today morning and in the whole daytime I’d been there.

That’s the day!

I took a KTM train in Jln Templer station in the morning heading to KL central in order to take a bus which would fetch me to Genting. Here is a part of the rough station:

Jln Templer KTM station

You just saw one person in the picture, right?Because one train was just passing the station.I have to say I was lucky to make a right desion at that time. What is it?Well,in fact I arrived in the station in 7:39am.At the time I saw the train leaving. Therefore I waited for another 20 minutes for another train. But when the next train coming,I found that there was only an aperture to stand. Finally I gave up to take into the train and waited for another again. After 5 minutes, another train which wasn’t under schedule stopped in front of me with only a few passengers. It was really surprising me.I jumped into the train and felt so happy.Because of that I reached KL central more earlier than what I planned.

However,my bus was delayed and it left to me one hour and a half.I went to Starbucks and ordered one ice Espresso.I thought I would be so free in that hour, but I wasn’t since I spent most of time in toilet.Every time I drink Espresso,it surely gives me an upset stomach. Thus I felt quite tried after such activities. So I’ll write some other things tomorrow. :D

Be patient! :P

(P/S:Anybody knows why the coffee makes me such an effect?!)

KTM again

Today I went through KL central KTM station and got a ticket to come back home.I caught a sight of the new ticket design.(Maybe it’s not so new,but I just found it.)It promotes ‘Visit Malaysia 2007′ too.Let you see the detail.

KTM ticket

Is it nice?Fairly to say, that is not so matching with the overall. But of course, having something is always better than nothing.I accepted it…What about you?

My route(2)

Today I accompanied my girlfriend to meet her customer in one railway station.Where is it?You guess it first.

Two trains…

*(KTM Commuter and Star LRT train)

And that place has another train passing. It’s KLIA Express(Transit).Once you sum up all information above, you should know where it is.Well,it is Bandar Tasik Selatan Station which is near Cheras. There are 3 different trains integrated in almost the same place by linking some skybridges.

I don’t know why I like railway so much. But I really like the feelings when I’m taking on a train along with its swing and hearing its sound from its tracks and wheels. That’s very cool…(The farthermost way by train for me is from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok.)

Sharing with you some other pics.Hope that you like them…
