How to make a bootable Windows 8 DVD by your own

Windows 8 was released one week ago officially and quite a number of Windows 7 users had upgraded to Windows 8 by online download method.It’s quite easy and convenient and  we could also save some money on delivery.However,some people may realize that it will bring some problems once we want to re-install Windows 8 in a formatted PC.At that time,if you have a piece of Windows 8 DVD/USB flash drive,you will feel easy.

In fact,you could make one by our own and it’s not complicated.

  1. You have to get a PC which has a DVD burner,a blank DVD disk and Internet connection.
  2. Download Windows 8 setup file.(Uploaded.net;RyuShare.com)
  3. Double click the downloaded file and it will run for checking your system and downloading essential files for installation.
  4. Waiting for choosing the installation method-install by creating media) and click ‘Next’
  5. Choose which media to use;you have to prepare either a USB flash Drive with at least 3GB empty storage or a ISO file(for making a bootable Windows 8 DVD later).In this case,we choose ISO file,and click ‘Save’
  6. Then it will pop up a window to ask where you want to save the ISO file.Find a proper  location and then click ‘Save’
  7. After that,just insert you blank DVD disk into your drive and follow the instructions.After about 5 minutes,you will get your bootable Windows 8 DVD.

 

October 23:Apple invites

Yes,after tons of rumors spreading around,Apple sent out batches of invitations to the medias,inviting them to attend the event organised on 23 October 2012 at the California Theatre in San Jose.

As you may notice in the invitation,there is a word ‘little’ in the sentence.It’s so easy to make people link it into iPad mini,the smaller size of iPad which may directly compete with Nexus 7 and coming Microsoft Surface.Will it be attractive?

Well,waiting for another week and I’m sure we could know what exactly it is.

Microsoft finally starts the pre-order of its latest tablet “Surface” before Apple officially introduces new products from them(most probably “iPad Mini”).The shipment date will be 26 October,2012.

In the official website of Surface, the pre-order prices are from US$499 and current version of Surface is based on Windows RT,the new version of Windows designed for ARM-based tablets and PCs.

Let us check the details of specifications:

Will this be able to beat with Apple iPad series?I think content is the most important element for tablets.Surface could only be successful until they have the app store with almost the same quality as Apple has and it really takes time.

Windows 8 is getting closer

Windows 8 will be released to the public by 26 October 2012.As a touch-friendly system,it will be broadly used in tablets and touchscreen devices.

In order to highlight the advantages of the latest Windows,Microsoft just did a commercial video for it.

Now you could start to pre-order Windows 8 Pro on Microsoft Store at US$ 69.99,from 26 October 2012,you could also get your downloadable version at US$ 39.99.

I hope it could minimize the compatibility issues and get a smooth upgrade from current Windows 7.

Nokia Lumia 920 & 820

Nokia is experiencing a bad period and they are now trying hard to recapture some market shares.Yesterday,Nokia, cooperating with Microsoft,released their latest WP 8 phone Lumia 920 and 820.

Nokia Lumia 920 has a PureMotion HD+ 4.5″ screen with 332ppi for clearer and brighter display.It powers on Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1.5 Ghz Processor and Adreno 225 GPU(the same as HTC One XL),Nokia PureView 8.7 megapixels Camera,NFC and Wireless charger.

I think most people are more interesting in the PureView Camera as it’s said to be working very well in low light environment with super wide angle.However,as the software of the phone is still under testing stage,I can’t get any samples now.

Talk about Nokia Lumia 820,actually it’s 70% of Nokia Lumia 920 with a bit lower specs.

The wireless charging shells have several colors to customize your phone.

You can check out the details of Lumia 920 and 820 in the official sub-sites.Up to now,no prices were revealed.I think they want to wait for new iPhone first,then only draft out a price which could compete with it.Is that a smart move?I don’t think so because it could waste some time advantage to occupy market shares.I just wish that Nokia will make the price really attractive.

Microsoft Tablet-Surface

Microsoft finally joined the battle of tablets.In fact,quite a number of people had got the feeling that Microsoft was willing to enter into the tablet market badly when Microsoft displayed Windows 8 beta which has been optimized for tablet to the public.

Microsoft named the its tablet “Surface“.It will be run Windows 8 on the board and include two versions currently:Windows RT version with NVIDIA Tegra chipset;Windows 8 Pro version with Intel Core i5 processor.

I feel that this tablet will attract people who are currently PC users as Microsoft said Surface will compatible to most of software in Windows 7.By the way,the keyboard is detachable.

From the information provided by Microsoft,two versions of Surface have different sizes and weights.

We can see that Windows RT version is more portable whilst Windows 8 Pro is much powerful. Continue reading →

[CONFIRMED]Microsoft is on the way to eat Skype

Frankly speaking,when I first time heard this news,I thought this is a joke.I mean how hard you could link a software giant special in OS and word processing software with a VOIP solution company.After I dig deeper,I find that’s possible as Microsoft has Windows Live Messenger which could count in the same field.Currently,some sources now have claimed that Microsoft had offered a price between US8-9 billion to acquire Skype.

I like Skype very much as I always use it contacting with friends and family far away from me.It could provide a clear voice and video communication with their unique compressing technology,it even could work quite fine in a low bandwidth environment when other chatting tools are failed.

Skype currently could earn US600 million yearly and most of the income source is company customer.The competition never stops in this area.Google has Google voice and Google Talk and just introduced video chatting recently;Rumour from Facebook said Facebook is researching on adding voice chat function in the website;a lot of apps now are supporting video chatting on iOS/Android devices.

I think Microsoft wants to get Skype to integrate with its Windows Live Messenger to enhance the experience on voice/video chatting as well as making it an income generator.Who knows?Just wait Microsoft to come out to clarify all.
