Yes 4G is everywhere

I seldom talk about Yes 4G because till now I have’t had a chance to try the service.Well,it’s quite new compared with P1 4G which has been running this 4G service for years. However,Yes 4G is catching up as quickly as they can.Now the battle has moved to multiply platforms, including mobile advertisement.

Yesterday, when I started to play the latest Angry Birds Rio Beach Volley Update in my Nexus One,a pop-up ad came in front of me.I made a snapshot of it.

Wow,I felt so surprised that I could see this ad in a game.

Well, that also indicates that the management of YTL communication, the service provider of Yes 4G,has put great efforts on promoting it and intends to win the battle with an outstanding result. If there is no minimum RM30 usage monthly,I think I will definitely get one for spare use when I can’t get a good 3G reception on the go.

Now I’m just looking forward to see more flexible plans to be introduced.

Google Chrome on TV

Google now starts to promote the browser Google Chrome on TV.The latest video clip is saying how convenient the extensions on Google Chrome work.

I have to admit that I am a Google fan:I’m using Gmail to send and receive emails;I’m using Nexus One which is a Google phone with Android system;I’m searching stuff by Google search engine;Even now I’m open Google Chrome to write this blog post.Google is everywhere in my life and that’s what Google’s doing-try to touch into everybody’s daily life and it is the exact way that Google generates income.

Well,Google is not satisfied with what it’d done and wish to go further to attract more attentions from potential users.TV advertisement is really a good way to go.

Do you like this video?I like it very much as it’s showing how technologies could help us build up a warm memory.Guys behind Google are too smart.

Nexus One received Android 2.3.4

Just after several days of getting the news about Android 2.3.4,Nexus One has received it in some ways, right after Nexus S which is first to get this update.

In Nexus One,there’s no front camera so that no video calling function in this version. However,it consists of of some bug fixes:

It will be rolling out OTA by stages. However,if you’re not so cool on waiting it,you could directly download and install it manually. It should be quite simple if you’ve done it before.

I’m using CM7 in my Nexus One and I believe it will release a newer version based on Android 2.3.4 soon.Stay tuned!

[UPDATE]Android 2.3.4

Google through its tweets announced that Android 2.3.4 will be dropped into the market in few weeks(hopefully that will not another long waiting period).

New functions and improvements are always welcomed.

Google said the video call funtion will integrate with Google Talk and available to use it over WiFi or 3G/4G data network.Let’s watch the demo first:

Of course, the video call function is only a part of Android 2.3.4.More details will be released only after AOSP showing out.Stay tuned!

Nexus One finally can eat Gingerbread

As a fan of Android platform,I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. We wait for the day to get Android 2.3(Gingerbread) OTA too long.

When we first got the official information about the availability of this upgrade was 3 months ago.At that time, the spokesman told us we could get it in ‘few weeks’.All right, now we finally know how long is that.

Thanks Google! The good news was informed through twitter one day ago.

Yeah, the version of Gingerbread is 2.3.3 which has a lot of enhancements and provides some new supports such as WebM format files. That could be great that Nexus One is again to be a pioneer phone which supports this new format.

However,my phone has been rooted and so I can’t get the OTA unfortunately.well,I believe CyanogenMod will soon release the nightlies based on this new version of Gingerbread too.

It’s really a nice day! I just hope Nexus One could get upgraded every time when Android has new members.

Google Nexus S

With thousands of rumors of this Nexus phone,it finally was introduced by Google 10 hours ago, capable with the latest Android system,Android 2.3(as known as ‘Gingerbread’).

This time, the phone is made by Samsung.I think that’s why it is called as Nexus ‘S’,not Nexus Two.

You can know it clearly via its official video clip.

Google has released the detailed spec of this leading phone.

It will be available in US and UK market in 2 weeks. The contract-free phone will cost you US$529,the same price as Nexus One previously.

Well,What I’m looking forward to is my Nexus One gets ‘Gingerbread’ as soon as possible,at least before Christmas.I think lots of Nexus One users are waiting for that big day and the update, for us,will perhaps be the best Christmas gift.

I believe Google Android system will be the trend of smart phones because it’s moving really fast and the engineers in the development team do know the needs of users, the most important thing is Android system is open source. That means it’s maximizing the flexibility of modifying the system in order to fit all kinds of experiences.

If you never have a smart phone,I think you could try Nexus S to know that a phone could be such powerful.

Google Nexus One is officially off the online market

Google Nexus one is unavailable to sell in its official website permanently as said by Google that it has achieved the initial aim. However,it will be sold at some authorized retail shops as well as partners in US,European countries and South Korea. On the other hand,it will be also treated as a developer phone and sold by Android develop team in some other ways.I just caught the announcement from Android developers blog about it:

Nexus One Developer Phone

from Android Developers Blog by Tim Bray

We’ve always offered unlocked phones for direct sale to registered Android Developers. As of today, the Developer Phone is the Nexus One, at a price of $529. To see the details or order a phone, you need to sign in to your Android developer account and click on the "Development Phones" link.

The Nexus One combines an up-to-the-minute platform (Android 2.2), modern hardware, and the pure Google Experience software suite. It’s a good choice both for people who want to build Android applications using either the SDK or the NDK, and those who want to experiment with modified versions of the Android platform. Note that the Nexus One still ships with Android 2.1 but will download 2.2 soon after you turn it on; make sure you’re near a fast network.

As well as being an outstanding developer platform, it’s a really nice everyday phone; we’re really happy to have connected the right dots to make this happen.

So if you are an Android developer, you still can use that provided method to get a new Google Nexus One which has advanced hardware and designs. If you’re not,you can find some way to get it too.Google Nexus One will never die.
