From now on,Malaysian PayPal users can add Ringgit Malaysia to be your primary currency instead of those international currencies we normally use and withdraw your PayPal balance to your local banks.

PayPal balance in RM Are you willing to get that?Actually it’s quite simple. After several clicks, you can get what you see here.

1.Click ‘Manage Currency’ and it will be switched into the following page.

Add new currency 2.Go to ‘Select new currency’ and tick the one you want to add and press ‘Add Currency’.

3.After that, you can see your newly added currency is in the list.

If you want to withdraw funds to your local bank account, you have to add the bank information in your profile.I don’t teach you here because it should be the basic of PayPal users. The fees for transactions and withdrawals are listed below:

Fees for transactions Fees for bank withdrawals I think the charges are quite fair.I’m thinking this maybe is a signal from Bank Negara(the Central Bank of Malaysia) for slacking some currency policy so as to attract more foreign direct investment.I love the move! :)

First time withdraw funds from PayPal(2)

I applied to withdraw funds from PayPal to my credit card account last week.Just now I checked the balance of my credit card and recognized that the transfer has been successful.

Compared with the pound funds which was transferred.

So the exchange rate would be 443.29/66.59=RM6.657/pound(today is 6.74).I think it is quite ok,right? It almost takes 5 days and is strictly within the policy.Actually once the transaction is done,”Recent Activity” record in PayPal will be updated with “Completed” status”.

By the way, because all those money is earned by blogging, therefore it should be treated as a milestone. :)

First time withdraw funds from PayPal

I wanted to withdraw funds from PayPal to my debit card account. But unfortunately that all my debit card applications were declined by the banks. And the last chance is Tune Card, which is finally to be told that can’t be used on transactions from PayPal.

So I decided to transfer those funds to my credit card account so that to be against with my balance in order to leave more available balances to deal with the upcoming expenses in Shanghai.

The procedures are quite simple.Firstly, just login into my own account and you can easily find the ‘withdraw’ button on the top raw there to click it.

The next page is telling you the processing days and fees.

Choose the method which you want to withdraw to:”US bank account” OR “Card“(inclusive with credit card and debit card). At last, you will turn to a page which need fill up the withdrawal amount.By the way, there are also providing some notes that may be related with you so that you’d better to take some time to have a look at it.

After completing to write that amount,”continue” and there will be a final information for your transaction.Till here, you’ve done all and what you need to do is to wait for 5-7 days to process your transaction.

This is my transaction history for the latest withdrawal.

You can see the status(pending) of that withdrawal.I hope it can be finished processing before I’m be back to Shanghai. :)

Today is a busy day(1)

By several times calling to TuneMoney and walking to post office in MidValley, finally I get my Tune Card.In fact the card had been in the post office 2 weeks ago and available to collect. The officer there need to sign into their system and process something further when I go to collect it.Unfortunately the Internet line there had been interrupted for 3 weeks so that they cannot do anything for me till now.Yeah,it’s Streamyx again.

Though waiting time is so long,I still get it.Let’s see the pics.

front look back look

Red is the key color of the card and it matches Tony Fernandez’s style.I like the design, but I think I’ll not use it.The aim that I apply for this card is to use it to withdraw fund from PayPal.However, the official reply I get today is that it can’t work.So this card will be like my collection.

Tune Card

I found that TuneMoney now is promoting its exclusive card-Tune Card with outstanding benefits.

As it shows ‘VISA’ logo and it represent an idea of prepaid,it is a VISA prepaid(debit) card.So it maybe another choice to withdraw PayPal funds because except credit cards, only VISA debit card is eligible to receive funds from PayPal till now. Previously we merely know VISA debit card only can be applied to Public Bank or Al-Rajhi Bank locally.

I don’t know whether it can works for PayPal.But apparently its annual fee(RM9.99) is cheaper than Public Bank VISA Electron debit card(RM24 annually).Any one has interest on it?Give it a try and make a report to me please… :D
