A(H1N1) has been declared to be an influenza pandemic

The World Health Organization declared the first influenza pandemic in more than 40 years, due to the spread of the H1N1 swine flu.

WHO has raised the pandemic flu alert into six,the highest one which means the disease is spreading world-wide.

However, the fact is the virus seems like quite moderate at the moment and so people are not necessary to be too worry about it.The only thing we need to remember is to maintain good personal hygiene including frequent hand-washing.

As medicines have been well-prepared and we have experience to successfully get rid of SARS,I believe we finally could overcome this difficulty too.

Human beings are smarter than the virus, aren’t we? :D

Influenza A(H1N1) Update 1

The numbers of cases are increasing. However, some epidemiologists said that there have a few indications showing that the illness is not so horrible as SARS because most of patients who get the therapy in time could have a complete recovery within a week.

Seeing the latest data,we’re able to figure out that 5 new countries are listed:Costa Rica,France,Ireland,Italy and Republic of Korea. So 18 countries have officially reported 898 cases of influenza A(H1N1) infection.

Meanwhile, the identification of the A(H1N1) virus in a swine herd in Alberta,Canada was reported.Nevertheless,at this time there is no indication of virus adaptation through transfer from human to pigs.Thus,well-cocked pork should be still safe to be eaten.

Personal health is the priority.Individuals are advised to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water on a regular basis and should seek medical attention if they develop any symptoms of influenza-like illness.

Take care,friends!

Influenza A(H1N1)

A(H1N1virus From now on,please call that swine flu into a proper name as Influenza A(H1N1).That will really release some pressure on the pigs. :P

Well, seriously there’s no sign to say that Influenza A(H1N1) is under control yet. And the latest news confirmed that one laboratory confirmed case just found in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,China and the man is hospitalized currently. That may not be a good news for Asians because previous cases happened far from Continental Asia, however,it seems to be closer now.

I think we need not be too worry about the illness since we have the therapy to cure it.But we have to be more prudent on our health and for those people who are planning to take an international travel, they probably should consider to schedule it,especially for those travelling to the infected countries.

WHO lately reported that total 13 countries(USA,Mexico,Australia,Canada,Hong Kong[China],Denmark,Germany,Israel,Netherlands,New Zealand,Spain,Switzerland and UK) have Influenza A(H1N1) infection.Till now there are 367 cases and still going on.WHO again indicated that there is also no risk of infection from this virus from consumption of well-cooked pork and pork products. Individuals are advised to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water on a regular basis and should seek medical attention if they develop any symptoms of influenza-like illness.

A working bacterin is being developed and tested.I hope the processing could be faster a bit so as to remove people’s panic and turn the life back to normal as soon as possible.

After all,I truly wish all people are healthy and wealthy all the time.

*I will try my best to update the related news here timely.

Swine Flu

Swine flu affects widely in America.Around 150 people are infected by swine flu, including 20 death in Mexico. The spread of H1N1 is quite fast and involves a lot of countries such as Mexico,USA,UK,New Zealand etc.

It may let people associate the disease with SARS.Well,I could say that it is not such a horrible thing as swing flu could be cured by Tamiflu and Relenza.Meanwhile,it could have some ways to prevent it too.swineflu(1)

  • Take respirator/face mask when you’re in public places.
  • Keep hands and body clean.
  • Be more frequent to clean up the litter bin.
  • Cook pork under a high temperature(over 71.1℃) for a longer time because the virus could be killed at that situation.

The symptoms of swine flu is quite the same as normal flu:cough, fever, sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting and so on.So if you live in an infected area and you got the same symptoms, you’d better to have a careful check-up in the hospital to secure your life.

If you don’t live at such an area,I don’t think you need to be too worry about it because the disease is still controllable and treatable.

Google Maps open up a Swine Flu (H1N1) Outbreak Map.People are warned to not visit the particular places temporarily.
