After the upgrade of TM core network(2)

Ok,the whole work of upgrading TM core network to NGN had been completed by last Saturday. As what I thought, there were no differences before and after the upgrade again.

In some forums,a few people said that it was perhaps a start of HSBB project turning to substantial phrase and thus,we can’t feel any improvements yet.Well,I hope that is the truth.

And I heard the news about AAG(Asia-America Gateway) which will be officially launched in coming August. This is a 2 terabits cable which will be linking the major countries in South East Asia to USA.Once it gets into work,it should provide a much smooth way compared to current congested one.

However, all things discussing here are assumed.I wish the long waiting could give me some wonderful impression in the near future. How do you think about it?

After the upgrade of TM core network(1)

I have to say that I didn’t feel any changes after the upgrade from TM.The issue of high latency to international links with packet loss is still here and complaints are still around everywhere.

Is it because the upgrade hasn’t been completed? As I mention, there is another upgrade on next Friday night.Maybe we need to wait all work done first and then only give out our conclusions.

All right!Let’s wait and see.

Upgrading core network by TM

TM claimed that an upgrade for its core network will be processed on two days:

  1. Friday, 12 June 2009, 11 pm till Saturday, 13 June 2009, 6 am
  2. Friday, 19 June 2009, 11 pm till Saturday, 20 June 2009, 6 am

During that period all Internet and VoIP service may experience some disruption.

The main work it will be done is to migrate the existing core network into an NGN(Next Generation Networking) core network which was said to be "the latest network technology to facilitate the ongoing improvements of our network performance and service quality. The migration will allow TM to provide a more integrated service proposition to support a large ecosystem of applications."

More and more users are complaining on the low service quality from the beginning of the year.I think this upgrade should be a response to the complaints. However, whether this is effective is still unknown.

We have to wait for 2 weeks to see the result.I hope it could be positive.

Upgrade to WordPress 2.7 beta3

I have heard thousands of times about WordPress 2.7 since it was claimed to have many improvements in every corner. Now it has gone to the third beta and RC1 will be introduced in perhaps next week. Thus,I just upgraded to this version first because the main bugs had been inspected by those senior testers and fixed by the development team.

At my first glance after installation,a highly integrated dashboard displayed.

Dashboard It makes things to be easier as you can do most of those in a very short distance. And if you remember, when converted from 2.5.* to 2.6.*,a new function created which allows automatic upgrades of existing plug-ins after several clicks. Now it’s further more. The latest WordPress allows us upgrading the whole platform in that simple way.

I’m not the professional fellow and I only used it for minutes. So I can get a very skin-deep thing only.I think you’d better to try it by yourself to know better.

Upgrade to WordPress 2.5

I did the upgrade yesterday. This upgrade is like a milestone of WordPress since it has a lot of improvements and add some new functions required by the user groups and also re-design the dashboard into a fresh view with great performances(Eg. faster loading).Matt had written a long article to describe all those features in official blog there.

Meanwhile it updated WordPress.org with a simple but cool look too.Let’s cheer. :D
