Windows 7 RC is open to the public to download now.Windows 7 development team said that from beta to RC,more than 20 improvements have been done and thus, users could have much better experience on it.
RC(Release Candidate) version is always treated as a final version before the official release to the retail market. It’s the time to enhance the performance and eliminate some small bugs which did not figure out before, meanwhile, test the compatibilities with other software by a large group of volunteers(potential users).
Are you ready to get it?I wish that will not be another Windows Vista.
Microsoft spoke out recently that they will stop the general availability of downloading Windows 7 beta on February 10th,2009.The shutdown will take place into 3 phrases over the next few weeks:
Starting January 27th, the Windows 7 page will be updated with a warning that time is running out on downloading the Windows 7 Beta and that we will be limiting downloads shortly. People will be encouraged to register and start the download of the Windows 7 Beta sooner rather than later.
February 10th, new downloads of the Windows 7 Beta will no longer be available. People who have already started their Windows 7 Beta download and have not yet finished will still be able to finish their download and are encouraged to do so.
February 12th, people will no longer be able to complete their download of the Windows 7 Beta. Anyone who hasn’t finished downloading the Windows 7 Beta will be unable to do so.
However, product key will be able to get even after February 12th,2009.In addition,MSDN and TechNet Subscribers are not bound to the above information.
Thus,if you still want to try the fresh tech, you’d hurry up to download it the sooner the better.
If you have installed Windows 7 and been running it in a computer which is running Windows Vista as well, you’ll exactly find that it works much faster than Windows Vista. Why?
You should know that the big problems of Windows Vista are the incompatibility with quite a number of software(well,a bit improvements in SP1) and the high requirement of specs. It avoids some purchasing demand of consumers because it may cost some inconvenience and a price to upgrade the system too.For most people, that is not a worth-to-do thing.Windows 7 is trying to erase this bad history and so make a much popular requirement instead.Let’s see the comparison of minimum recommended specs.
Windows Vista(Home Premium/Business/Ultimate):
Windows 7(Ultimate)
1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 GB of system memory
40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space
Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)
DVD-R/W Drive
Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates)
And yes, like anything tech-related, these specs could change.
Though you may find the requirements are so similar, from my tests I feel that Windows 7 occupies less physical memory than Windows Vista when both of them are running with those beautiful Aero themes.I’ll post up the screenshots of the real usages later in order to make a detailed analysis.
All right,if you haven’t yet downloaded Windows 7 and had a try,you may refer to my previous step-by-step post and then enjoy it.I hope you will feel good on it.
As we could get from lots of media platforms,Windows 7 has a very high expectation and it seems to run with a pretty good performance which was indicated by tech editors and some official sources. In International CES 2009,Steve Ballmer announced that Windows 7 beta would available to download for public test and now it’s the day.
At first,Microsoft only decided to have a 2.5 million unit limit of total downloading. However,we have been told that they have terminated the rule for the next two weeks(Thru January 24) as a response of an enormous surge in demand.Follow the steps below and I’m sure you can get it easily and quickly.
2.Scroll down the page and find the section I mention below.
Select the version and language you want to test on and then click GO.
3.You will redirect to a page where needs you to log in your Windows Live ID and fill up some personal details including an Email address. Please note that the Email address must be valid as it will be used for a verification purpose.
4.Check your email box and click the link provided in the email.
5.You should be now in the download page which shows a product key as well.
Please write down the production key because it will be used to register the product during the installation. After all, click Download Now to start the trip to Windows 7.
I wind up my instruction here and hopefully it helps you.Have a nice day!
The greatest electronic product gathering-International Consumer Electronics Show 2009 is currently held in Las Vegas,USA.Plenty of new technologies are displaying in front of millions of eyes and no doubt that most of them will be in the retail market soon.
Microsoft is always a conspicuous multimedia giant in the show. This year is the first time that Steve Ballmer,CEO of Microsoft Corp.,has his own stage to lay out Microsoft’s vision for personal computing, connected entertainment and consumer electronics.
For me,I’m quite interested in Windows 7 beta.As I said before,Windows7 beta 1 had been leaked out several weeks ago and actually I had installed it and been testing on it.Because it hadn’t been released officially,it still has no way to activate it.However,in CES 2009 Steve Ballmer revealed that Windows 7 beta will open to public for test purpose from January 9 2009.That means Windows 7 will start the way of running to maturity. And perhaps it will come into the market asap in order to reoccupy consumer’s confidences from the failure of releasing Windows Vista.Stay tuned!
Windows Mobile,Windows Live and Microsoft Xbox 360 are the other stars of the show.Steve Ballmer gave out a brief keynote for all of them and you could get some points you want from the following clip.Enjoy!
After watching the full keynote,I believe you will feel excited and have a great hope to see the innovation of Microsoft in 2009.Microsoft,you can do what you said, right?
The official source spoke out several days ago that Windows 7 beta would be open to public in coming January,2009.But since yesterday, some downloading method could have been leaked out.Today,I’ve found some screenshots posted by some bloggers.DOWNLOADSQUAD reported the case on Dec. 27,2008.
From the comments left on the net, most of them are positive. So I think I should test it by my own to know about the props and cons of it.I’d tried to download it by BT,but it moved very slowly due to some unknown reason.Tomorrow I’ll try it again and if successfully,I will install it and post up my senses at once to share with your guys.Stay tuned!
